I
am a graduate from Saint Martin's University's Education Department. I hold my Washington State K-8 Teaching Certificate with an endorsement in Elementary Education
and in Early Childhood Education (Preschool through grade 3). My academic field endorsements are Social Studies
and Language Arts.
I have spent over
25 years volunteering and mentoring in the Elma School District and did my student teaching with Elma 4th graders. I
taught at Elma's Story Hour Christian Preschool for about 6 years. This is my second year teaching kindergarten
at McCleary Grade School. I have grown to love the students, staff, school and community very much and am honored to
be allowed the opportunity to share in the lives of McCleary's students.
I believe that teaching and learning can and should be fun (most of the time). As an
educator, I try to utilize many different teaching methods in order to teach to each student's individual learning style
while having fun at the same time. I also believe that each child has special gifts, abilities and talents and I try
to encourage each individual in those specific areas while at the same time meeting and exceeding Washington State Learning Requirements.
