The Kissing Hand by Audrey Penn

We read this story together several times during the first week of school.  Many students were having a difficult time being away from their parents and/or caregivers for a full day of kindergarten and this book is a great way to open discussion about missing the people we love.  The kids had a wonderful time making handprints for their parents during that first week of school to remind them to share the story with their families.
